STEAM/STEM – How? What? Why?

What’s happening?
A forum exploring STEM and STEAM education is coming to Canterbury in 2019. The leadership team from Whakarongo School will share how they are meeting the needs of their learners using a STEM/STEAM approach to reconceptualise the curriculum. They will describe how they have effectively led and embedded change across the school and what they have learnt along the way.

Why?
At this forum you can explore the following questions:

  • What does STEM/STEAM look like within a reconceptualised curriculum?
  • How can you be an effective leader of a STEM/STEAM based curriculum redesign at your school?
  • How can schools make learning authentic through a STEM/STEAM approach across years 1-8?

Who is the event for?
This forum is for all Canterbury teachers and leaders interested in using a STEM/STEAM approach at their school.
