Avonhead School's journey through a refurbishment

Avonhead School was the first large school in Canterbury to be redeveloped and refurbished. This followed the announcement of the Ministry of Education’s Christchurch earthquake renewal package for schools in 2013. Over the past three years it has undergone a three stage building project, resulting in new learning environments for teachers and students. The budget for the project was 4.25 million dollars, with the Avonhead School Board also contributing a significant amount of funding.

Principal Charles Levings shares the story of their journey through the building project and the challenges and highlights of being at the start of this process.
